Sawdust Soup

I need to buy and/or learn how to make small rosary beads in mass (so to speak) but have not found a "bead making machine" online yet.

I don't want to buy the beads already made but rather make my own beads in large quantities out of the cedar material used to make our church alter. Anyone have any ideas?

I would use a lathe and then separate with band saw then drill

Thanks so much. The beads need to be around 1/4", 3/8" at the very most, and I tried on my full size lathe but couldn't keep the cedar stock from breaking apart.

If there's no such thing as a "bead machine" maybe it'll be a good excuse to break down and buy a mini lathe and try that. Again, thanks.

Yours in sawdust,
Dan
