Part of my current project is to apply 1/2" and 1/4" cherry veneer on mdf panels to a drywalled set of rooms. Contact cement comes to mind however I can see problems occuring from lack of wiggle room. Does any one have any suggestions. Maybe PL200 or will it migrate through the mdf.

Good Morning Fraser.... I have seen panels com undone that have been secured with contact adhesive. Whether it was application error or just the wrong product for the job, PL200 applied in dobs (bigger than dabs) in an 8 inch pattern has always worked great for all kinds of panels in all kinds of locations. If you do a quick test on mdf in the shop you'll feel more confident on the job site. Let us know how it turns out & take some pictures. We'll look forward to seeing your work.

Do not glue panels directly to walls. That method does not allow for any movement in the panel with changes in relative humidity. The correct method is to use French cleats, you can make them yourself from any wood product or purchase pre-manufactured ones. They will allow the panel to move with changes in RH.
