Comment by Ronald Davison on January 4, 2013 at 4:25pm I am interested in importing 20' cargo containers of high-density, red-grain, senile coconut wood. As a wanta-be wood worker, I had difficulties milling hollow-spiral staircase balusters from low-density, black-grain coconut wood from Mexico, so I developed an inexpensive sodium silicate treatment to increase density, then discovered the high-density red grain from the Central Pacific. I would like to find woodworkers interested in milling it and a financial partner to help me clear-cut the groves to load 2" slabs into 20' cargo containers for export to Utah.
