In other industry's they are utilizing a open source where they essentially do product development. I'm interested in setting up a New Product Incubator.
in other industry's such at IT. Linux, Firefox, Mozilla, they have open platforms, Microsoft does it as well. In manufacturing you have GE, Procter & Gamble for example who have alot of patents that sat dormant for years. Now they open them for people to complete and become products launched.
I met with cabinetry people once and I asked when you buy this material for this machinery or this product does it ever just work perfectly.
Answer usually not. So they make adaptions. Then I asked I bet you have alot of ideas and they said we have a drawer of them. My point is there are all kinds of idea that never happen because of backing finanical or time or no way to launch.
This could be design, fashion, materials, machinery components, hardware, who knows. However with the web and social media there could be a place.
Now the question is how do you do this and not have people rip it off. Well in other open source programs they have to agree to be contributors. Now it may also be a way for a product to be considered and find investors as well.

My point is there are ideas everywhere that just are not making it, but may be of perfect value and probably has a marketplace.

I believe this a great opportunity to get this going.
