You are so right, Ed. Start out right and you can't go wrong. Changing culture is the hardest part of a Lean transition. Systems, machines, and processes don't carry bad habits with them, but people do. I can turn a company around in a few months, but sustainment comes only when the culture has shifted from task-management, batch production, to collaboration and flow.
