I wouldn't worry about it this time, but if you plan any follow-ups or new thoughts, that would be the way to go. We'd like to encourage a bunch of regular bloggers.

Jim, just saw all of your cross posts of the New Product Incubator idea. It probably would have been better -- and easier for you -- to have posted it once as a blog post. We generally feature all the blog posts on the main page so they get maximum visibility. That's something to think about for the future. You have a unique perspective on the industry and regular blogs from you would likely be welcome and well read.

I was talking about the 600 members of sawdust soup. There is a group for upholstery with two members. How do we reach members who are not part of an association? We can get mailing lists from FDM and Furniture Today. I know they break down their audience by industry segment. SIC codes can also provide a means of identifying a target audience, but I'm not sure how to get those lists without paying a hefty fee. These are items that will be discussed with Amy and Bill.

Hi Jim. Here we are at 600 members in this forum and there are only a couple of upholsery folks. We just don't seem to be able to attract them. That is one of the issues I will be discussing with Amy and Bill next week. We can't educate if we can't get their attention and participation.

I assume you mean with Amy and Bill. I am going to MSState on the 23rd for a face to face with them to do some planning and also just meet them and tour the campus. I am also going to try to get a staff assignment there and listen to MIke Huckabee all in one trip. If you are wondering how the discussions are going here, you will note that of 455 members, less than 5 are upholstery folks. They haven't seen fit to join in yet.
