Modern Wood Design will be installing the IMA Novimat Compact R3, which will be the first laser edgebanding machine in southern California. Cody Campanie, a student at Seattle Central College won The Best of Show Award, in the 2017 AWFS Fresh Wood Competition after judges reviewed the projects of 41 finalists from 16 different high schools and colleges in the U.S. and Canada at the 2017 AWFS Fair. C.R. Onsrud, a manufacturer of CNC machine tools, is reaching out to manufacturing facilities in the wake of the hurricane damaged areas on the East and Gulf coasts.

WMMA held its first regional networking and education event in Charlotte, North Carolina, in mid-September.

They had more than 40 participants in the inaugural event. In-person committee meetings were full of information and ideas on moving the organization forward. DeWalt responds to OSHA enforcement of respirable crystalline silica standard

On September 23, OSHA began enforcement of the new respirable crystalline silica in construction standard.

DeWalt has reported that it has more than 60 ways to comply with the OSHA Silica Dust Ruling through its line of Perform & Protect tools and accessories. A full list of these tools and accessories can be on the DeWalt website.

FDMC 300 companies operate 35 woodworking plant operations in Quebec, the most in Canada. Ontario had 28 FDMC 300 plant sites, Manitoba 11, Alberta 2, British Columbia 2 and Saskatchewan 1.

The FDMC 300 is a group of the 300 largest cabinet, furniture, millwork, store fixture, office/contract and component producers in North America.

MacBeath Hardwood expands to Stockton, California

MacBeath Hardwood has announced the opening of a location in Stockton, California. The new location is at 2648 Teepee Dr. in the Cherokee Industrial Park. The lot size is close to three acres, and the warehouse is 63,000 square feet. It is equipped with two dock doors, four grade level doors, and a fenced and paved yard.
