Thanx Norman. I cut the shoulders of the tenons on the table saw and the cheeks on the band saw . The "through part" I used the disc sander with the table tilted. I toyed with scrap till I found the right pyramid shape. Its finished with yellow dye,Early American stain and natural Danish oil.

I guess i'm going for the Makita, i just give a try to the impact drive and is just amazing the power of that llitle drill, it feel like your drilling into butter, and they have a special at home depot the drill and the impact 18v 3 amp for 299 but just one year of warranty and i'm not sure about these new batteries "Lithium-Ion" i think they die faster.
do u finish your work (lacquer and stain) it looks flawless.

I've only used the Sikkens solid stain. Stained a customers deck this past summer(customer supplied material) ,it went on like a good paint,covered like one too. I'll see what happens this spring.
