Faced with declining membership, the AWI Georgia chapter decided to dissolve. The board wanted to do something useful with their remaining funds. They requested proposals from several educational organizations. WoodLINKS USA was selected. The money will be used to pay for site license fees for up to six schools in the state of Georgia. The remaining balance will be used to pay for teachers to attend the IWF in Atlanta.
WoodLINKS USA is currently looking for schools in Georgia interested in becoming part of their 65-school
national network. Send a letter of interest and include a statement explaining how the program would
benefit from participation in the WLUSA program. Information should be submitted via email to
woodlinksusa@medicacombb.net. For more information, contact Patrick Molzahn, WoodLINKS USA president, at:
pmolzahn@matcmadison.edu or 608.246.6842.

Comment by Duane Griffiths on February 24, 2012 at 7:05pm Many applaud Georgia's AWI Chapter for their selection in providing grants to school woodworking programs which desire to become WoodLINKS USA programs. This will benefit the students, woodworking program and particularly the industry. Unlike common belief, there are many other woodworking programs which desire to become WoodLINKS programs. They are only lacking woodworking companies to take interest in them and assist with their growth. By assisting these schools, everyone wins.
