OK, I'll admit it, I'll look for good economic news anywhere. The latest positive report comes from, of all places, truck leasing statistics. According to LeaseTrader.com, a Web site specializing in automotive leases, there has been a significant recent uptick in the number of truck leases going to the construction industry.
"Builders and remodelers, in particular, have been a large part of our increase in truck category demand," said Sergio Stiberman, CEO and founder of LeaseTrader.com. "Although the construction industry is still recovering from a deep economic pullback in housing activity, builders are slowly gaining shorter-term projects where they’re looking for short-term lease commitments."
Well, I'm not ready to run out and lease a new truck just yet, but I'm glad to see some other folks see things looking up enough to make those kinds of commitments.
