Gibson CEO talks about decision to settle federal complaint

I ran across this fascinating video of Mike Huckabee interviewing Gibson Guitars CEO ... about Gibson's recent decision to settle a case over federal charges the company had violated provisions of the Lacey Act relating to alleged illegal importation of exotic woods. But as Juszkiewicz tells it, the decision had more to do with putting an end to skyrocketing legal fees and getting his employees back to work than it had to do with any actual charges being filed. In fact, Juszkiewicz claims, the wood in question was all from environmentally harvested sources as certified by a recognized third-party organization. He further asserts the federal government was trying to force him to buy parts manufactured in India rather than employ American woodworkers to do the same work in Gibson's U.S. factories. The video raises as many questions as it answers, but it is well worth a watch for anyone concerned about regulations affecting the woodworking industry.
