On our Pennsylvania trip we also stopped at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum in Galeton. We missed the bark peeler competition held earlier in the year, but enjoyed the sawmill, shops and old locomotive. Many of displays were about the lumber boom more than a hundred years ago, when loggers cut down almost every tree in the state.
Don't head for north central Pa. during the winter; the museum is closed from Nov. 1 to April 1.
I wonder how a museum of the future would portray the current woodworking market?
