Just got my power and internet back after a 2-1/2-day outage following Hurricane Sandy. I got off easy with no property damage and just a fairly minor inconvenience factor. But I know there are lots of people and businesses much worse off. I heard from a shop owner in New Jersey who has been told it will take two to three weeks for power to be restored. I am sure he is not alone.
This is a good time for shop owners to get to know each other and help each other out. Members of the Cabinet Makers Association have been doing this for a long time and are sure to get involved after Superstorm Sandy. Don't think competition; think collaboration and neighbor helping neighbor for the good of all.

Comment by Will Sampson on November 1, 2012 at 1:52pm I talked with Dave Grulke of the CMA, and he says he has been in touch with most of the CMA shops in the area affected by the storm. He says most are just dealing with power outage issues and don't seem to have suffered more serious damage. That's good to hear.
